Alnus incana (Thinleaf Alder)
Alnus incana is a deciduous tree native to Europe and the Caucasus. It has a smooth gray bark that gives it an interest in winter. During bloom time, catkin flowers form on branches before the leaves. The leaves have a hairy underside and a medium to dark top side. The tree is very cold tolerant and has moderate tolerance for drought.
