Hakonechloa macra (Hakone Grass)
This green leaves deciduous grass tolerates almost full shade but does best in part shade and has papery leaves that resemble the leaves of bamboo. It has a better effect when planted in masses. Its characteristics gives the garden a Japanese feel. It spreads slowly through undergorund rhizomes. It does best in humus-rich moist soil
