Garrya elliptica (Wavyleaf Silktassel)
Garrya elliptica is an evergreen shrub native to Western United States. It is most interesting in winter where long white flowers cluster in the picture. Male flowers are more showy than the female ones. The leathery leaves spread along the branches in an opposite manner. It can be used as screening, topiary, espalier, border, windbreak, hedging and bonsai.
