Lagerstroemia fauriei (Japanese Crape-Myrtle)
Native to Japan, the Japanese Crape-Myrtle is a fast growing, deciduous tree that is very similar to the common Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica); however, it has smaller, white flowers and larger, dark green leaves. The Japanese Crape-Myrtle is multistemmed and has an interesting bark of cinnamon brown color that flakes off the trunk which creates an interesting patchwork. In Autumn, the leaves turn yellow.
