Thuja orientalis (Arborvitae)
Oriental arborvitae is an evergreen large shrub or small tree with a dense conical shape. The leaves are scale like and it has a distinct grooved pattern on the back. The leaves has a lemony smell when scratches. The fruit is fleshy blue-green in color when developing later on horn-like. The bark is shredding. It tolerates most of the conditions except wet soil and heat. Best in full sun. Used as a specimen, hedge or screen.
