Chaenomeles speciosa (Flowering Quince)
Chaenomeles speciosa is a deciduous shrub native to Japan and China. It is of most interest during flowering season rather than the rest of the year where it looses its appeal. It has an edible quince fruit that can be used as jam. The trunk in smooth and spiny. It has a wide range of uses from cutflowers to hedging, screening, winbreak, bonsai and topiary.
