Juniperus excelsa (Greek Juniper)
"Four Juniper species are native to Lebanon. Two of these, Juniperus excelsa and J. foetidissima, have the same distribution range and occupy the same habitats. Both species have scale-like leaves. In Mediterranean countries, Juniperus excelsa occurs in the warmest and driest zones. In Lebanon, the species is an essential member of high mountain plant communities. The circumference of the trunk of one old Juniper tree in Ouyoun Orghoush was found to be more than 6 meters. "
