Cortaderia selloana (Pampas Grass)
Pampa grass is one of the most well known ornamental grass used in landscaping. Originated from Argentine from the Pampas the grass can handle frost, some heat, drought and salt. It forms a large clumps, featuring arching narrow green leaves that are topped in fall by huge, feathery, silvery white flowers. The flower is more impressive in the female plants than on male plants. In cold regions the leaves have to be cut back in the winter time. Can as as invasive plants in warm regions. Excellent specimen, border or screen plants.
