Tabernaemontana divaricata (Crepe Jasmine, Paper gardenia)
This round, evergreen is a large shrub native to India and southeastern Asia and widely cultivated throughout the tropics. The elliptic-oblong, thin, glossy, deeply veined, dark leaves are paired along the stems. Flowering occurs throughout the year with heaviest bloom in spring and summer. It has waxy, pure, white, ruffle-edged flowers, which are especially fragrant at dusk and after dark.
