Kigelia africana (Sausage Tree)

Sausage Tree is a semi deciduous tree native to africa. It has dark red flowers, with an unpleasant scent, that becomes huge, brown, sausage-like fruits that can be 1 meter long and about 7kg weight. These features makes the tree an ideal speciment to use in tropical gardens.

The ideal conditions to plant this tree in are moist fertile soils with average drainage, and in full sun. This tree is heat, drought and salt tolerant.
