Castanea dentata (American Sweet Chestnut)
The American Chestnut used to be the grandest tree in the eastern North American forest, which changed when the chestnut blight fungus reached America. The chestnut tree was wiped out. Other sized of the tree can be found at botanical gardens and in the woods.
