Prunus laurocerasus (Cherry Laurel, Common Laurel, )
The cherry Laurel is an evergreen shrub reaching 1.5-2 m in height and 2-3 m in spread. The leaves are long lanceolate with minutely serrated edges, glossy green very waxy. The white flowers appearing early spring in clusters with a nice fragrance and follow by a black drupe fruit. Cherry laurel prefers moist, fertile, well-drained soil, accepts sun or shade, and tolerates salt spray. It excels as a hedge or screen, or in the mixed border or foundation planting
