Salix babilonica (Babylon Weeping Willow, Weeping Willow)
This elegant tree is a classic large landscapes with ponds or moist lowlands. This deciduous tree native to eastern Asia. Leaves are deciduous,but it is beautiful year-round because of its elegant weeping branches interesting with leaves or without. It grows best in full sun and organic-rich soil with a lots of moisture. The tree makes a nice accent or specimen in a residential or commercial landscape but does not have the long-life. The tree has the same undesirable features of other willows including weak wood and insect problems.
