Phyllostachys bissetii (David Bisset Bamboo)

Phyllostachys  bamboo is a large, elegant evergreen very fast growing herbaceous plant originating from Southern China. This plant is mainly used as a border or as a specimen plant, and is mostly favored in wet areas. The Bamboo has an ability of reaching heigher than 5 meters, and can really have an impact when used as a specimen in the landscape. This bamboo's arching canes, green at first become blackish-brown with maturity.The plant develops underground rhizomes, which in return are responsible for developing the upright stems.
