Datura inoxia (Downy Thornapple, Pricklyburr, Hindu Datura)

Downy Thornapple is a large herbacious perennial that can usually be used as annual as well, and is native to Central and South America.

The plant looks best at morning when the flowers are open. The flowers are white or violet, and fragrant.

To be planted in dry poor soil, and in full sun. The plant is hardy, and tolerates heat, drought and salt. All parts of the plant are poisonus and the plant can sometimes be invasive.
