Hedychium coronarium (Butterfly Ginger)
The Butterfly Ginger is one of the nicest gingers it’s grown for its intensely enjoyable fragrant flowers; this herbaceous is native from the Himalayan foothills to Southeast Asia. Hundreds of flowers can appear in a 6-week period. But each one lasts about one day. The pure, white, showy flowers blooms in late spring through summer .The leaves are simple, large and borne on either side of the stems. If pollinated, the flowers give rise to orange ovular fruit that split to reveal orange and red seeds. It grows well in warm humid climate but It can resist cold. The rhizomes needs to be cover during cold months.
