Ruellia brittoniana (Mexican petunia)

Mexican petunia is a herbaceous perennial , native to Mexico and South America. From spring to fall it produces a funnel shape flower which comes in white pink or purple color. Butterflies loves the flower.  The leaf is long and linear and creates a dense look for the plant. It is grows best in full sun or partial shade and can tolerate heat, and drought. Under cold condition it might die back but will grow back from the rhizomes.  It can spread aggressively and invasively by both seed and rhizomes.
