Pandanus veitchii (Veitchs Screw Pine)
This small tree is native to the tropical areas of South Pacific, Haiwaii and Tahitii. Botanicaly it's not a true tree , related to the palms and bamboo. The leaves are narrow and spiky on the edge. Female and male flowers are separated. Once pollinated, they become a large, heavy fruit . As it drops it will be eaten by lizards and rodents. The plant grows many fibrous roots on its base to anchor the plants in the windy loose sandy soil. It is used as an indoor plants. Only aged plants produces trunks
