Musa x paradisiaca (Saba Banana, Papaya Banana, Pawpaw Banana 'Saba')
Bananas are giant, tropical, tree-like herbs. Bananas are grown in warm, moist regions globally. The fast-growing stems produces an enormous long flat leaves The stems are made up of huge tightly wrapped leaf bases. The decorative purple flowers appear after 14 month and will produce a long banana stem with many fruits. Once the plant produced the fruit the main stem will die and many offsets will appear from the rhizomes. Bananas require warm, fertile soil with consistent moisture. Full sun exposures are best and a long growing season is needed for flowering and subsequent fruits.
