Plant Profile

Teucrium fruticans (Shrubby geranium)

Teucrium fruticans is evergreen shrub with silvery-white stems and small, narrowly oval mid-green aromatic leaves. Warm weather brings terminal clusters of small lavender or light blue flowers. Bees adore them. This cold-tender shrub favors sun and non-acidic, well-drained, relatively infertile. Takes drought and salty conditions very well. Teucrium harmonizes well with almost any other Mediterranean plants such as rosemary, lavender, oleanders or also with succulents and cacti. Used as low hedge, container plants, xeriscaping, and in mass plantation.
