Acer rubrum (Red Maple, Swamp Maple)
Red Maple is a tall, deciduous tree with an oval shape. It is best known for its red, orange, or yellow fall color. It grows best in wet places and in a variety of soil types; however, it may develop chlorosis on alkaline soil. Its seeds are popular with animals. It is easily transplanted and shows wide genetic diversity.
