Amelanchier lamarckii (Apple Serviceberry, Juneberry)
Amelanchier lamarckii is a deciduous tree native to North America. It holds a sweet purplish black fruit edible for humans and attractive to birds. It flowers with a white color creating a very beautiful and attractive foliage. Whether this tree is a natural hybrid or not is still a debatable issue. The tree carries green leaves in spring that turn red and yellow in fall. It grows in full to partial sun and can be a great hedge or windbreak that is attractive to wildlife.
