Plant Profile

Lantana motevidensis 'Pink' (Pink Trailing lantana, Weeping lantana)

Low growing trailing shrub reaching maximum of 60-80 cm. Branches are weak to grow upward. Leaves are smaller than L. camara, ovate rough. The flowers are in uniform color pink, group in clusters, blooming throughout the year. It makes an excellent groundcover or climber. Highly tolerant of any soil type and grows well on sandy soil. Does best on full sun but tolerate some shade. Less sensitive to frost than L. camara . Weeping lantana is fast growing and easy to propagate, establish and maintain. The flowers are very attractive to butterflies and it is tolerant of hot and droughty conditions. The weeping lantana does not seem to naturalize as readily and isn't as invasive as its cousin, common lantana.
