Ficus sycomorus (Fig-mulberry, Sycamore Fig)
Sycamore tree is considered as the ' tree of life" due to the fruit production plus the timber made out of its wood. Its a semi evergreen tree with a spreading canopy. The leaves are broad, oval. The newly emerged leaves are reddish. The fruit covers the the trunk and inner limbs. Plant this tree on a wide space with plenty of sunshine. In subtropical regions where the pollinating wasp is absent, fruiting may never occur. Use sycamore fig as a spectacular specimen tree in a park or estate garden.
