Olea europaea (Olive Tree )
The olive tree is a tree very famous to the Mediterranean region, and Lebanon mainly, for the beauty of the tree and the very little water and maintenance requirements make it one of the best in the region. The trees produce fruits (olives) which can be found on every table in the Lebanese cuisine, and its production rates are very high. The tree can reach a height and spread of 10-15 m, and can grow for over a hundred years. The plants are also used in ornamental landscapes, and can tolerate urban conditions and grow well in the streets.
