Copernicia alba (Carnauba wax palm )
The Caranday Palm Tree is not well known in cultivation and is considered rare. It is a cold hardy palm. The stunning Caranday Palm is great for focal point or can be used in grouping of three. Copernicia alba has solitary trunk, gray, slender, 7-9 m. high and 0.25 m. in diameter and can reach exceptionally to 13 m. high. The leaves are clearly palmates, shiny green. Plant has spines or sharp edges; use extreme caution when handling. The fruits are blacks and ovoid when mature, seeds ovoid, germinate easily if fresh.
