Corylus colurna (Turkish filbert, Turkish hazel)

Corylus colurna is a deciduous tree native to Southeastern Europe, Asia Minor, Western Asia. It has a unique huge pyramidal shape it has a thick short trunk under the huge horizontal dense branches. It has a fairly moderate to slow growth rate. This tree is highly valued by landscape artichects. The leaves are dark green and turn pale yellow before they fall. It has can be used as specimen or shade. It is also pollution tolerant and can be planted in urban context, but litter will be an issue in this case.
