Plant Profile

Cassia bicapsularis (Winter Cassia, Butterfly Bush)

Winter Cassia is known to wake up while the others are preparing for winter. It’s native to Northern South America, from Panama to Venezuela and Colombia. It’s a semi-evergreen shrub, reaching a height of 3 meters with an equal spread. The beautifully shaped bright yellow flowers attract bees and butterflies.

This shrub can be pruned to become a tree but requires staking to hold them upright.
